As part of the Marble Market team I wanted to challenge our site visitors to share their fondest memory of having, playing or collecting marbles. Be they stone or glass, hand made or machine made. Were they few or many, passed down or feverishly collected. Did you champion the game arena or display and trade them? Let me hear from you.

I had several my grandfather gave me when I was a boy. Old glass ones, they were his when he was a kid. Never got into games or collecting myself, but still have them in his memory. See them out at flea markets and such and there is definitely some really nice hand made glass ones available. Anyway, not much of a story, but your request made me recall some good memories.
I remember kids playing with marbles at school. They would draw a big circle on the cement with chalk and shoot the glass balls at what seemed to me to be in a random direction. I never got the idea of the game because I was more interested in looking at the glass sphere's. All the beautiful colors and swirls were amazing. I still collect marbles of all kinds and sizes. Whenever I see them I have to look through and pick out my favorite ones.
Just found this blog and thought I'd add my memories. I used to play lots of different games heavily as a child and was pretty good at winning others marbles. Had a large collection that I let get away as I grew older. Wish my kids now played as I often wish I had kept those marbles.
As a grandmother of 3, marbles give me an opportunity to play without too much physical activity. The grandkids love to see Grandma get down and shoot. It's great fun and I'd recommend marbles to grandparents across America. Love your website.
If only I could go back in time and have all the marbles again that I had as a child, I'd likely be able to open up my own marble website like yours. Although I never had any that were as nice as your handmade sets. I'm amazed at how cool they are.
I'm passing your site along to friends that still have marble collections in hopes that they'll pick up a set or two.
http://www.mrblmkt.com rocks! (and rolls too! I like that line)
Looking forward to picking up a set or two for myself as soon as I can. Hopefully the sets I want won't be gone by then.
Great website!
